My name is Melissa
I have been in 42 different foster homes/group homes and struggled with self esteem issues my whole life. I always wanted to feel a place of belonging. I longed for affection which lead to the birth of 4 children by age 21. 3 of my children were apprehended and placed with family. My 4th child, I have been given a chance to parent because I was able to stay at the WINGS Maternity Home. Prior to my acceptance at WINGS I was scheduled to have an abortion at 6 months. WINGS has changed my life. This home has given me the tools to LOVE and to know LOVE. To understand that God has a purpose for me and my child/children. I am a Christian now and am graduating from WINGS in November 2011 with my son. Without WINGS I would not have been successful and my son would not be in my care today. I no longer wish to return to my old lifestyle. I look forward to ALL that God has for me as I journey towards my DESTINY.
MY NAME IS CRYSTAL: I stayed at WINGS Maternity Home 2010/2011 and graduated from there in March 2011. I came to WINGS from Jail, addicted to drugs and prostitution. Marion accepted me into her home and treated me like a daughter. I am so grateful to WINGS for leading me to a NEW path one that is whole. I have come to know God and have no desire to use drugs or ever return to that life again. I am the proud mother of my beautiful son and have recently been reunited with my older daughter who I had not seen for 6 years because of my addiction. WINGS has continued to reach out to me even after my graduation and I come and take part in the weekly Bible Study at the WINGS home. I am so grateful to this home and all that it taught me. It changed my life and gave my son a MOTHER.
