FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How did W.I.N.G.S. Home start?
W.I.N.G.S began February 2009 with our 1st young Teen Mom who came to us and ask for help.  We loved having her as part of our family and growing and experiencing life with her as she embraced motherhood.

How is W.I.N.G.S. funded?
W.I.N.G.S is a non-profit organization.  We will not be looking for any kind of Government Funding.  This house is funded at this point by myself and the generous donations of friends, family and local churches.  We also are thrilled at the generous kindness of the community to donate clothing and baby essentials.

The Girls who come to live here will also have to pay a small fee each month based on their income, this will vary from one girl to an other and no girl will be turned away if she has no income or is unable to pay the fee.

What are the qualifications/criteria for moms to come to W.I.N.G.S Home?
In order for  a pregnant mom to come to W.I.N.G.S Home she must:
Be Pregnant & without other children in her care
Be willing herself to come into this home
Free from Drugs, Alcohol and Smoking
Willing to live in accordance with the house rules
Committed to work on goals of self-improvement
      Completing Schooling or Seeking Employment

Living, Budgeting, communication & Parenting.

What happens to the moms once they leave W.I.N.G.S. Home?
Throughout their stay at W.I.N.G.S. the mother is asked to set and achieve her goals.  (ie. furthering her education, finding a job, saving money).  Therefore when it is time for a woman to leave W.I.N.G.S, she has prepared herself to move on to independent living.
