Our First 2016 Baby Has Arrived!

WINGS' resident, Rachel, came to us needing shelter this past November and quickly adjusted to the home, jumping hard into studies with Grade Twelve physics in the Nest Day School. Rachel plans to enter engineering and was upgrading while pregnant, in order to enter post-secondary education next year.

Last Wednesday, with a grin and a dance (check out the video on Marion's Facebook page), Rachel headed to Lakeridge Health Ajax with Marion.  To all our delight, Rachel delivered her first child in just under five hours, all natural, without any complications.  Thanks for your prayers!

Beautiful Baby Audrey is the forty-fifth child born through the ministry of WINGS Maternity Home, our first joy of 2016.  Thank you for standing with WINGS for LIFE.

Special Thanks to Renaldo Dwarka at RAD Photography for your generous support to WINGS with your incredible gift as a photographer.

Did you know?

Huge Student Success at the NEST Day School Continues!

According to current statistics, adults who begin a secondary school correspondence courses average about 20% completion. Not at the NEST.

Currently, we average a 91% completion rate of courses.  All the students enrolled at the NEST are not only completing their courses, but the class average is in the high eighties.

Marion's Amazing

Chicken Divan:

  • 1 large head broccolior about 1/2 bag frozen broccoli

  • 1.5 - 2 pounds skinless, boneless chicken breast
  • 2 cans condensed cream of chicken soup
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (fresh squeezed is better)
  • 2 teaspoons sweet curry powder
  • 1 cup grated cheddar cheese

Cut the broccoli into florets. Drop into boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes till tender-crisp. Drain. Cut the chicken into bite-sized chunks Layer cooked broccoli and chicken on bottom of a 9X13 pan. Mix soup, mayo, lemon juice, curry; pour mixture over chicken. Sprinkle cheese evenly. Bake at 350 for 45 - 50 minutes. Enjoy by itself, or with noodles or rice or a salad. A huge favourite at the NEST Day School!
